This policy explains what information Surfacing collects when you use getsurfacing.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it plain.
Who we are
Surfacing helps businesses understand and improve how AI search engines find, understand and represent them. We operate from the United Kingdom. For anything in this policy, you can reach us through our contact page.
What we collect
We only collect what we need.
- Information you give us. When you submit the contact form or request a full audit, we collect your name, email address, your message, and — for an audit — the website domain you ask us to review.
- Information collected automatically. Like any website, our hosting provider records basic technical data such as your IP address and browser type in server logs, for security and performance. We don't run advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't build profiles of visitors.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, carry out any audit you've asked for, and improve the service. We rely on your consent when you choose to contact us, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site. We will never sell or rent your personal information.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of service providers to operate the site, who process data on our behalf under their own safeguards:
- Formspree delivers our form submissions to us.
- Cloudflare hosts and secures the site.
Because these providers operate internationally, your information may be processed outside the UK. Where it is, it's protected by appropriate safeguards.
Cookies
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies to keep the site secure and performant; these aren't used to track you.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and audit information only as long as we need it to help you and for our own reasonable records, after which we delete it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. To do any of these, contact us through our contact page and we'll respond. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page.
